When camera is mentioned, it always points to body and lens. For SLR (Single Lens Reflex) camera, we have a lots of lens to choose, but the body remains unchanged. It is easy to see that when we consider camera, it is the body.

Camera body has an important role for every shot because it is the body's function to complete the operation. Designing camera body requires a balance for arts and application. The outlook is a form of art. The function is a matter of applicaiton.

As early cameras required delicate mechanical design, and accuracy was the only requirement, Germany took the leading role of cameras before. It may be due to the palm size of European photographers at that time, all cameras were big in size and in a box form. Perhaps someone may say that it is metallic quality and a sense of importance with heavy weight. Another one may say they are too bulky and the corners make them hard to hold.
