Free program for all camera phone users
In the ebook "CamPhone Photo Guide" (to be published in May 2005), the writer Mr. F. H. Tong has suggested readers a method to manage the digital photo files.
The filename of digital photo files will always face duplication. In order to manage the digital image library, it is better to rename the digital image files taken at a certain date by adding the date to the filename. We may have Img001.jpg taken in various days because after deleting the image file in the camera phone, the filename will be used again automatically. Therefore, by renaming the digital photo files taken, for example, in May 3, 2005, with the file head of 20050503, then all digital photo files taken at the day will become 20050503Img001.jpg etc.
Of course, that will require our effort to rename the image file one by one. Mr. F. H. Tong said he had the duty to solve the problem for his suggestion. Therefore he prepared a program for the readers to rename all image file with the added file name header in a folder.
However, before the publication of the ebook, Mr. F. H. Tong realized that this small program might be needed by many camera phone users etc. who might not need to buy his guidebook. Therefore, he decided to release this program to the public free of charge.
The procedure suggested in the book is:
1. Before transferring image files from the camera phone, create a folder in your computer. It can be the date of taking those images etc.
2. Then connect the camera phone with the computer by Infrared, Blue Tooth or cable etc.
3. Choose the digital photo files from the camera phone and copy.
4. Go to the newly created folder and paste.
5. End connection with camera phone
6. Run CPPGRNF.exe
7. Choose Drive and sub-directory, locating the folder that contains all the digital photo files
8. Input the file name header
9. Click "START RENAME" button, then all digital photo files of that folder will have the file name header.
