Why email address is needed for registration?

First, email address is one of the unique identification. Second, the downloading program must be sent by email and the password for the coming free services and update information will be sent to the email address too. There will not be any email other than the mentioned activities. All our announcement or new products will be placed in this site only. The email addresses will not be transferred to any other parties including the sponsors.

Can I order the book without the order form?

Yes, if you use PAYPAL or by other payment method with notice to us about your email address, country etc. The ORDER FORM is for us to prepare the download for buyer only.

Why this book is in electronic format?

For photography, we need a lot of images; for demonstration, we need visual/photos and corresponding statements. There is no better way than electronic format that makes use of the most common tool, browsers. We can have popup windows to enlarge certain images. We can have popup windows for slide show style demonstrations.

Further more, like I always say, digital technology is improving everyday, there will be updated to the book for registered readers. In electronic format, the files are placed in fixed directory and sub directories; a specified program will automatically handles the necessary replacement. It is my decision that readers should not be forced to buy new editions for the same title. That is the advantage of electronic book.

Why a total of 105 Megabytes is required?

For text, it should be much less. But there are lots of image files for the pages and demonstration. I have downsized most of them, yet due to the number of images used is big, the total size cannot be reduced any more.

What is MYTCARD METHOD?

MYTCARD METHOD is a new technique that I invented for readers of my book, "DigiPhoto Guide for Beginners". The automatic exposure function of digital cameras may not be fit with our subject or composition. For digital camera users, the only way to determine is the LCD display. It is difficult for them to judge whether exposure is correct for their photos. MYTCARD METHOD makes use of letters and with a user guide, anyone can read from the LCD display and find the corresponding adjustment.

What is the best way to read this book?

If possible, it is advised to read the first two chapters. Chapter Three to Chapter Twelve is a layered design so that it is faster to get the information with the major content. The "Explanation" or "Explanation and Test" contends further information about those functions and application know-how.

Making the book a real reference, we have used almost every way to meet such demand. A list of chapters is for direct links to selection. The "Next" button is to read one by one and the "Previous" button to move back to previous chapter. Copy of Powershot G6 function list is for searching by each function. The "By Demo" includes photos in this book for readers to select for immediate information. The "Go Back" button and floating button is for going back to where it came from. Photos are linked to a pop up for large size display. A number of slide shows are for step by step demonstration.

Therefore, it is advised to go through all such electronic goodies so that whenever information is required, it can be done in seconds.

Why there is no email advice for DOWNLOADING after ORDER?

(Case 1) This is because PAYMENT has not been received or we cannot trace the corresponding payment.

(Case 2) After receiving the order and payment confirmation, our email will be sent within two days. Originally the email had a zip file (unzip to a folder with two files). Due to the virus problem, some ISPs might block email with attachment. Therefore we have changed the download method. The email is now with a link and password. Therefore the email would not be blocked anymore. We are checking the download record and shall send email to buyer after one to two weeks' time when download has not been performed. We shall arrange solution for any problem that our readers have.

How the DOWNLOADING be performed?

In the DOWNLOAD email, there is a link and a password. Just use the browser with that link and input the password when request, then the download will be performed.

The arrangement now is for PC/Windows. We are working for the download with Macintosh.

What to do if the DOWNLOADING has been interrupt?

Just to browse http://www.t-photo.com/getDPwG6.exe again and enter your code. In normal situation, if DOWNLOAD has not been completed, this is allowed. If you cannot download again, please email to : mail@t-photo.com

What mean by the message [You have download the ebook on : Year nnnn Month nn Day nn]?

This is because you have downloaded already on that date. It is not allowed to download more than one time. Also, recording the date is performed after successful download.

What to do after DOWNLOAD?

After DOWNLOAD, there is a notice:

to C: or D: root directory,
then goto /G6 and
double click G6.htm to read. We suggest to select and send it to desktop shortcut.

The procedure must be followed to have the zip file unzipped to a root directory.

With PC, it should be C: or D: or E: etc. Check after unzip, there should be C:/G6 or D:/G6 or E:/G6 etc.

With confirmation from a Macintosh user, just to unzip the file to 'Macintosh HD' will be fine.[10.01.2005]

However, if there has been mistake, like c:/My Document/G6, then open the /My Document directory, select the folder G6 and copy, then open My Computer and goto Drive C:, choose paste. Make sure it works before going back to /My Document and erase the G6 folder.

We have tried to work a better way, but since there are different platforms, there is no bulletproof method found yet.

Why some icon or image cannot be seen?

This is usually a problem of computer memory or reading error. Just click [REFRESH] will solve the problem.

According to latest information, Microsoft IE may have blocked the 'active content'. Basing on a solution found in a forum, "I went to tools > internet Options > advanced > security: allow active content to run in files....< it was already checked but I unchecked it, rebooted and re enable it".

Why the ebook cannot be shown or pages cannot be linked?

With PC, after unzip, it should be C:/G6 or D:/G6 or E:/G6 etc.

With Macintosh, it should be Macintosh HD:/G6

After unzip the DOWNLOAD, where are the files for the ebook?

Unzip the DOWNLOAD DPwG6.zip will create the following:

G6 (DIRECTORY) with files: G6.htm, README.doc, README.txt
The G6.htm is the first page of the ebook, double-click it to start reading.
README.doc (Word) and README.txt (NOTEPAD) are the same content and readers are advised to read it first.
