Digital image has a great contribution, the easy way of editing. For most cases, digital editing is far more convenient and almost no cost for trial and meet what one want it to be. For home use or business other than output and graphics, we have to know that we are using a system too. Any computer with printer is a micro system from edit to output. If scanner is used, then a full system from input, edit and output. If we go for all conditions, like viewing situation, quality of monitor, display card etc., we are spending too much time and effort. Just remember it is our eyes to do the judgement. Make an output, a printed image. Compare with the image on the monitor. If possible, adjust the brightness and contrast of the monitor until they have the closest match. Remember the difference in terms of brightness, contrast and color bias. That is our own visual color management. Next get an image right on screen with same difference, then the output can be predicted. As for editing with software, e.g. Photoshop, it is a trial and error matter. Even with suggestions by experts, we need to work it out ourselves to have full understanding. Also there are different style, different level etc. for individual choice. In our site, there will be specific application to be added now and in the future. |
