Color slide processing is more stable because the E6 processing services are handled by Professional Labs, which are using chemicals from Kodak, especially the Kodak Q-Lab Certificate representing the official standard. Color slide is the best to prove our exposure. Color negative is not so stable because there are many film processors without universal standard, especially with chemicals from various suppliers.

As photographers, we need not spend our time to investigate this technical problem, all we can do is to select a D&P services center with stable standard. However, there is no such kind of guides to help and we have to select by experience.

Summing all facts mentioned, there are lots of factors affecting the accuracy of exposure. Some may contradict each other. some may come up with greater error. That is why we should not confirm that this camera has a better exposure control or this center has better standard. However, it is such kind of plus and minus that we can choose the best outcome for individual case.

The best way to arrange a personal test, making use of bracket exposure, that is, to expose a few more with stops over and under. Judging from prints for the best personal selection, we can mark down the exposure and the service center. Then we confirm by exposing the next roll of film with the same exposure adjustment of the test.
